Unified Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP)

In accordance with the first paragraph of Article 23 of the Ordinance, disputes related to domain names are alternatively resolved by a dispute resolution mechanism operated by Dispute Resolution Service Providers. In above-mentioned Ordinance, dispute resolution service providers have been defined as professional organizations qua public body, universities or international organizations which resolve disputes regarding domain names via arbiters or arbitration boards.  In this context, dispute resolution mechanism in line with the world applications have been envisaged for operation of the dispute resolution mechanism related to the internet domain names and determination of the dispute resolution service providers and to regulate the procedures and principles regarding the obligations of the Dispute Resolution Service Providers.

In accordance with the first paragraph of Article 23 of the Ordinance on Internet Domain Names, principles and procedures related to the operation of the dispute resolution mechanism are regulated by the Authority. In this context, particularly ICANN and IANA world applications have been examined and by taking the view of public institutions, civil society organizations, universities and other stakeholders “Draft Communiqué on Operation of Dispute Resolution Mechanism Related to Internet Domain Names and Dispute Resolution Service Providers” prepared. The subsequent publication of the Draft Communiqué, to resolve disputes related to domain names alternatively, dispute resolution mechanism will be operated.
